		<description>I&#039;m glad I found this list, John: I was looking for exactly something like this! It&#039;s hard to find good forum software. Too much of it copies the same generic look-and-feel, and I&#039;d prefer to step away from that into better longterm usability, even if that does mean a sharper learning curve — at least initially.</description>

		<description>I&#039;d suggest bbPress for the simple fact of integration, since you&#039;re already using WordPress.

1) It&#039;s very minimal.  I don&#039;t believe your forum intends to be a &#039;powerhouse&#039; like most sites geared towards a broad topic, or any topic (OT Central, anyone?).
2) It has the features you need to get out the door.  RSS, Administrative functions, tagging, etc.
3) Configuration takes a 1 or 2 minute session through a single file.
4) Highly active SVN, you can even help to contribute fixes back (OSS forever!).
5) Automattic Magic.  Oh, and Akismet.  Akismet is good when you have a popular service.</description>
